HUNDREDS WELCOMED TO THE HOME OF HARDWARE
Last Thursday the CRL was excited to host our Home of the Hardware Revolution, official launch event, bringing together our partners — U+I, Brunel University London and Hefce. Alongside this many other sector experts, startups and investors, as well as probably the most important, the support network for our startups, their friends and family.
It was a chance to celebrate and showcase the 11 CRL startups progress so far as part of the ever emerging Hardware sector and its developing ecosystem in London.
CRL Strategy Director Mat Hunter, shared the background and vision of the CRL, alongside the history of the place itself to the more than 150 guests who took the short train journey from Paddington to visit us. This heritage and vision was further reiterated and developed upon by Vice Chancellor and President at Brunel University London, Professor Julia Buckingham, Finance Director at U+I, Marcus Shepherd and Andrew Ward, Director of Corporate Relations at Brunel University London. reconnecting the important elements of opportunity, place, resources and investment.

The rest of the event was focused on sharing expert insights, experiences and discussion from those embedded in the London Hardware Ecosystem — from investors to entrepreneurs to startup businesses.

Finally It was also a chance to showcase the startups at the CRL with them sharing their products with the audience in fast paced sessions — really exciting to see how far they’ve come and when you see the variety and scope all together.
