Fades into the ash.

Originally published on social media 2020–09–21, this is a shot from the hotel room while we moved ahead with our plan to drive down the Pacific coast and across to Lake Tahoe and home via Crater Lake and Bend. The fires of 2020 caused a massive bank of ash to blanket the entire Pacific Northwest. I was particularly taken with the metaphor in the literal fading of the bridge into ash. We are dust, and unto dust we shall return.
