Day 14. Today is the day we would actually go into the city of Seattle. We took a bus because it only cost $2.50. Let me say this now. Seattle’s infrastructure is great. The bus system eventually moves underground to avoid traffic and it works super well.

Our first stop would be the “Original Starbucks”.

The BUCKS!

Please note that this Starbucks is in fact NOT the very first location. The first location was about a five minute walk away but eventually moved to this location, we were going to visit, in 1976. It looks the same way it did in 1976 because if can’t be changed due to its historical significance. The place operates as a regular Starbucks, there was a line, as expected. We waited for maybe 20 minutes before we got inside. The efficiency of this place is something else, because it needs to be. The best part of all is that it appeared the workers actually really enjoyed their work. They were throwing the drink cups to each other and cracking jokes with the customers.

Once we had our drinks, and souvenir mugs, mugs you can only buy at this Starbucks location, we were on our way to the Seattle Space Needle. I’ve been up the CN Tower in Toronto, and this was a very similar experience. The outer walkway is outdoors and enclosed by a cage fence, and you can go inside to see through the glass as well as get a bite to eat or a souvenir from the gift shop.

SEATTLE

Seattle was a great stop. The city is not one of those overcrowded messes we’re used to in New York, Boston, or Chicago. We got back from the city, grabbed a bite from Subway and called it a night.
