On August 26 we released a YouTube video to explain how the Cross The Ages: TCG game economy would work. As expected, after the release, we have received many comments and questions from our communities. Hence, we are going to give you a more in depth overview of the CTA TCG game economy here.

The article contains three parts: the three currencies related to CTA TCG and their utilities; benefits of holding CTA tokens and community token pre-sale.

The 3 Currencies of Cross The Ages

There will be three currencies related to the CTA TCG: Trisel, Prana and CTA. Previously, the name we used for Trisel was Gold and Crystal for Prana. We have officially changed these names for a more immersive experience into the lore of Cross The Ages.

The utility of these currencies are as follows:

Trisel is used for any in-game transformation between assets such as crafting as well as free cosmetics (sounds, emotes, card back…)

Prana is mainly used to acquire off-chain assets such as Chests or paid cosmetics.

CTA Token is used for any on-chain activity such as minting, trading, participating in E-tournaments, transforming NFT cards to NFC (physical cards), and ect.

How can you obtain these currencies

Trisel is rewarded only by playing the game. Prana can be bought inside the in-game shop, its price has a fixed value. CTA Token can be bought inside the in-game shop, converted from Prana and wherever it will be available on-chain. The price will be fixed until listing on exchanges.

Note: Minting cards requires CTA tokens. You can refill either by converting your Prana or by buying more CTA if there is not enough to mint your card.

Recap of the CTA token utility

CTA Token Presale

On September 23, we will release the early access of Cross The Ages: TCG which means anyone who is currently holding an Arkhante edition pack can open it and play the game then. In order to reward our communities, we are also opening the CTA Token community presale during the Early Access date.

So how does it work?

  • The PreSale is reserved for PreSale packs owners who open their packs.
  • You will be able to buy a chest containing CTA Tokens at a discounted price.
  • There are chests containing 100 / 250 / 500 / 1000 CTA tokens that you can buy.
  • You can use your discount only on one of these chests.
  • CTA Token unit price will be 0.13$ with the discount and 0.50$ otherwise. That means that if you buy a chest with 100 tokens and then you want to buy a chest with 250 tokens, the unit price for the 250 tokens chest will be 0.50$.
Token Community Sales Overview

Note that the whole in-game shop is accessible in FIAT currency, as like playing any Web2 games. The purchase of Prana or CTA Token in cryptocurrency such as USDC, USDT or ETH during community presale is under discussion with Immutable X. We will update you as soon as we have settled a solution.

We also would like to remind you that there is a buying limit of CTA Tokens before the token listing on any exchanges.

  • You can buy as many as you want BUT you have a cap.
  • This cap is determined by the presale packs you opened on your account.
  • A Primus pack has a cap of 1500 CTA Tokens while the Apprentice and Disciple packs have a cap of 600 and 750 CTA Tokens.

Also, once the General Access of the CTA: TCG is launched, the first 2000 users who buy a Neo chest (contains 48 packs) will have a cap of 600 CTA tokens, all the others will have only 100 CTA Tokens. The only way to go at 600 or above for them would be to buy remaining presale packs on the secondary market and open it on their game account.

Benefits of holding certain amount of CTA Tokens: receiving “Special Rare Cards”

Special Rare Cards

There is a different rarity hence we call it “Special Rare”, its characteristic ranges from Rare to Ultra Rare. It means that a SR card can have the same power as a Rare or an Ultra Rare card.

In total, there are 26 SR cards available from CTA airdrop, 13 Standard cards and 13 Alternative cards for the first season.

These airdropped SR cards are not available in any chests from the shop. You receive one airdrop card, if you have 500 CTA Tokens in your wallet and two cards if you have 1000 CTA tokens at the moment the weekly snapshot is done. There will be two weekly airdrops for the same card, which means if you missed the first one you will be able to get the second one. If you have 1000 CTA Token for both runs, you will have 4 cards in total.

Why is it important to collect four special rare cards in total? For example, for merging your cards, you will need 5 in total to transform your special rare cards (one special rare card + 4 other special rare cards to upgrade it to Alternative). They are already minted since it is airdropped to your wallet, you can use them on-chain directly.

Other SR cards will be available in physical CTA products such as the Cross The Ages novels. We will publish the physical book at the end of this year. Stay tuned for more updates from us.

We have gathered some of the game economy related questions from our community, you can find the answers here:

Community CTA Game Economy Q&A

Q1: Can we transfer the tokens in Prana and Trisel from one account to another? Following a sale or a rental of the cards?

A: No for Trisel. Technically yes for Prana <-> CTA when the CTA will be on-chain.

Q2: Can we send our CTA token from one account to another? If I open a Primus pack, I will have 1250 CTA, can I transfer 250 to another account or I will have to open another pack?

A: Not possible as long as the token is not on-chain.

Q3: When is token listing? Will it be listed on CEX and DEX or only DEX? The token is planned to be launched on a launchpad?

A: Whenever the player base will be good enough, likely in the first 6 months of the game. We aim to release on both types of exchanges. Yes we plan to also use launchpad.

Q4: Will there be a vesting on the token of the presale? When does the release of tokens for seed investors start? From the first listing on a DEX/CEX ?

A: No vesting. Yes it starts after the listing.

Q5: The price of the CTA will remain at 0.5$ until the launch of the game?

A: Until listing, yes

Q6: Will the NFTs in the Legacy packs have an impact on the economy of the game or the CTA universe?

A: Yes

Q7: The closed booster of the presale can remain closed indefinitely? and the following ones?

A: Yes

Q8: Will the NFC collection be ready for early access? Will the NFC collections be numbered so that we know their mint order?

A: The orders will not be opened at the beginning of the game. They will have the information from the NFT.

Q9: Will it be necessary to hold on to the CTA to have the Special Rare Cards or will it have to be stacked in the game?

A: For the moment hold on the wallet. When on-chain, stake.

Q11: What about quests and reward chests? Do they contain tokens and if so which one?

A: The only way to get Pranas and CTA Tokens is to buy them, except for special events.

Q12: Do we earn Trisel or Prana at the end of a game? Or do you have to have a chest to fill up with rewards at the end of the week? And how do you get this chest if it is the case?

A: The Trisel and cards are in the chests won at the end of the game, once unlocked.

Q13: What is the amount of Prana or Trisel to put in to pass a card as an alternative?

A: Awakening a card doesn’t cost anything, only merge does.

Q14: I would like clarification on what gives access to early, etc the pack or the pass inside? As I have several packs I thought to lend some to friends to allow them to discover the game during the early access but I have to send them the pack so that they open it on their accounts or if I only send them the pass they will be able to play anyway? Is there a Snapshot?

A: When you open a pack, your account is flagged to be able to play during the EA. Then the mint pass inside will be used for the upcoming season presale, transferring it will not give you access to the EA.

Q15: What is the cost of merging already minted cards? For example Special Rare cards, do I have to use CTA tokens for each card I add to upgrade a HS? Or will it be only at the complete merge that I pay with CTA?

A: Only Trisel for crafting (which include merging).
