10 Signs You Are Hooked On CrossFit

A newbie take on CrossFit

Here are my top 10 signs that you just started CrossFit and are hooked on it:

  1. The word “Sore” becomes a part of your everyday vocabulary.
  2. Reebok is no longer that shoe company that you haven't bought anything from in the last 20 years. Now they are a lifestyle brand and the most important Fitness company on earth! Nike who?
  3. Amazon sends you an email saying that they miss you. You reply back telling them to carry more weightlifting equipment.
  4. Your local UPS driver is looking more buff these days due to the number of packages he’s delivering from Rogue Fitness.
  5. Naming your kids becomes a lot harder. You stay away from names like Helen or Fran. The last thing you want is your friends to hear you say “I hate Helen” and think that you are an unfit parent.
  6. You start wearing shirts with saying on them that no one gets. Shirts that say “It never gets easier — you just get faster” make sense to you and your CrossFit buddies, but no one else.
  7. Employees who do CrossFit just became a whole lot more valuable to the company. After all, you need someone to speak with who can actually understand your secret coded language. Sorry J.
  8. You get into arguments with your friends about professional athletes — “I know Michael Jordan is the best basketball player in history, but what is his Fran time?”
  9. Everything becomes a lift. Going to Office Depot to pick up a box of paper becomes 15 reps of lifting 45 pound boxes. You clear the pallet that they are all sitting on because the box on the bottom is really what you are after.
  10. You realize that you like CrossFit so much that you don't mind waking up at 4:30am to attend a 6:00am class and when someone suggests a 5:00am class, you realize that waking up at 3:00am is not that bad either.
