Everyone according to the World Health Organization (WHO) are susceptible to be affected by Coronavirus.

The deadly disease also known as COVID-19, originates from Wuhan China. The disease has been declared as a pandemic by the WHO after over fifteen thousand people were confirmed dead. Currently, the global case figure from one hundred and ninety-five countries’ has been recorded as 380,000 and death toll stands at 16,559. This has led to world leaders acknowledging that science, technology, policies and knowledge are failing to discover the exact cure for the fast spread of COVID-19.

According to the WHO, further spread of COVID-19 among groups and people can be curtailed if the following are strictly adhere to:

  1. Frequent hands washing with soap or detergent under running water, or properly rubbing palm and fingers with an alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
  2. Covering mouth, and nose with tissue (that should be properly disposed off in a closed-bin), or using the inside of your bent elbow as a cover when coughing, sneezing or yawning.
  3. Avoiding and discouraging handshakes.
  4. Avoiding touching face, eyes, nose, and mouth.
  5. Social distancing (deliberately increasing the physical space between people by a meter or two to avoid spreading illness), and avoiding crowded areas.

In the event that you have a fever, experience consistent dry cough and difficulty breathing, quickly seek medical care at your local facility.

Remember at this difficult time, self-responsibility is needed to prevent COVID-19.
