A Peek at Signing Ceremony of Cooperation Agreement Between CROWDE and Bank BJB
Since 2019, we have been working with Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat dan Banten (bank bjb) on channeling capital to farmers in Sukabumi, West Java.
This cooperation is not going to stop in 2020. This regional-owned entreprises bank belonging to West Java and Banten Province continued to cooperate with CROWDE in channeling capital to the GARAP farmers in Sukabumi. In this cooperation, Bank BJB has a role as a fund provider through people business credit (KUR), and CROWDE as a financial technology startup (fintech) that focuses on agriculture creates the mechanism and assists the farmers from the disbursing phase to the harvesting phase.
This continuation of cooperation was marked with a ceremony for the signing of the addendum to the cooperation agreement. The ceremony was held under strict health protocols on Tuesday, Nov 3rd, 2020 in Sukamanis Village, Kadudampit District, Sukabumi.
Head of bank bjb Corporate Secretary Division Widi Hartanto said that this cooperation is a huge opportunity to boost farmers’ welfare.
“Bank bjb is a loyal partner of the government and society that has various financial supports for increasing economic growth,” Widi said.
Meanwhile, CROWDE CEO and Co-Founder Yohanes Sugihtononugroho hoped that the cooperation between CROWDE and bank bjb will last long.
“CROWDE is committed to supporting farmers. They [farmers] are the ultra-entrepreneur because they create the concept of their own business, starting from budgeting, cultivation planning, until crop selling. Hopefully, this collaboration will last long. We are always there for the farmers” said the guy who is familiarly called Oyong.
The important figures also came to the ceremony, such as the Head of Sukabumi Agricultural Department Sudradjat and the Head of Sukabumi Trade, Cooperative, and Small and Medium Enterprises Department. Both of them were allowed to give a speech at this ceremony.
Sudradjat hoped that the cultivation carried out by the GARAP farmers is going to run successfully. Ardiana also emphasized that farmers should be seen as subjects, not objects. They are figures who have an entrepreneurial spirit and need to be supported by others.
Up to the present, the total area of farmland that has received funding reaches 33 hectares with a total of 66 farmers. CROWDE is now also preparing the other farmlands in Sukabumi, Garut, and Cianjur Regency. In the meantime, bank bjb has developed a further partnership scheme to support Indonesian farmers in the future.
