“What?! Another feature release?!”

exclaimed Sam, our social media manager excitedly while staring at the newest feature on Crowdfire — The Competitor Analysis.

This has been in the works for quite some time now, so imagine our faces when our engineering team told us we were rolling this out to our users, right after the Calendar View update!

Talk about ending the year with a bang, huh!

Inception

Competitor Analysis has always been an important part of a company’s marketing strategy and social media is no different.

It’s super important to keep an eye on your competitor’s social performance to understand how you stack up against them. It’s necessary to study your competitor’s metrics and set benchmarks to compare yourself to.

But Competitor Analysis can prove to be a time-consuming process and might feel a little overwhelming if you’re physically keeping an eye on your competitor’s social accounts all the time.

Which is what set the ball rolling in our heads and we knew we HAD to build something which could help our users monitor their competitor’s social metrics while providing some valuable insights at the same time.

What is Competitor Analysis on Crowdfire?

Competitor Analysis is a feature which lets you monitor key metrics of your competitors and compare it with your own. This helps you get a clear view of where you stand as compared to other companies in your field.

  • How does your company’s socials stack up against your competitors?
  • What kind of posts are working for your competitors?
  • What’s their posting pattern and frequency?
  • How much engagement do their posts receive?

Crowdfire’s Competitor Analysis was built keeping in mind the solutions to these questions and a lot more!

Platforms supported

At the moment, the Competitor Analysis feature lets you monitor metrics for your Facebook page. Our engineering team is hard at work bringing in more platforms and metrics in the coming weeks!

This feature is currently, also, only available on the web app.

The Metrics

As mentioned, Competitor Analysis is currently available for Facebook pages. It shows you —

  1. The Total Page Likes — to compare it with yours
  2. Number of Posts published in the last 7 days —to get a good understanding about their posting patterns
  3. Number of Posts published in the 7 days previous to that — to get a good understanding about their posting patterns
  4. Total Engagement in the last 7 days — to see what kind of posts are working with their audience
  5. Total Engagement in the 7 days previous to that —to see what kind of posts are working with their audience
  6. The Top Ten Posts of a page — to understand what type of content did well for them

You can choose to deep dive into your competitor’s Facebook page analytics for the last 30 days, or can even narrow down and limit the analysis to the last 7 days or the last 24 hours.

Competitor Analysis on Crowdfire helps you —

👉 Understand how your competitors are performing on socials,

👉 Set metric benchmarks of your own as compared to theirs and,

👉 Tweak your marketing strategies accordingly

But the biggest pro to using our Competitor Analysis feature is that it helps you save time and efforts which you normally would have, while digging into their socials yourself.

Spend less time digging, more time marketing.

How to add a Competitor?

  1. Log into Crowdfire
  2. Click on Analytics situated on the left menu bar
  3. Tap on Competitor
  4. Click on the red Add Competitor button at the top and type in the name of the page you’re trying to add. Crowdfire will suggest all the pages related to what you’ve typed and you can select the correct ones.

And you’re done! You’ll now see all of their metrics within your Crowdfire dashboard.

Pricing Plans

Crowdfire’s Competitor Analysis is available for Premium and VIP users only. But if you’re not on these paid plans, then fret not. You can get started on the 14 day free trial right away to test it out yourself! 🙌

Final Thoughts

The Competitor Analysis feature was built to help you get easier and ready-made access to your competitor’s social metrics within a single dashboard, and that’s exactly what it does. We have some big plans for this feature and are already working on bringing in more aspects to the Competitor Analysis, so do stay tuned for that!

The Competitor Analysis is another step towards making Crowdfire a well-rounded, stand-alone social media tool.

And we can’t wait for you guys to get started and tell us what you think about this shiny new feature. Let’s get to it? 😎

You can reach out to our Support Champions at hello@crowdfireapp.com if you need any help getting started 🖖
