Fleets was released in Brazil in March 2020.

How to mute fleets?
You can’t turn the feature off altogether but you can mute fleets from specific users.
There are two ways to go about this.
- Press and hold the avatar of the user and mute their Fleets directly from the timeline.
- Go to user’s profile > open the menu on the right and click on mute.
Why so basic?
Right now, Fleets doesn’t have all the fancy tools. No filters, no AR functionalities and no cool visual representation effects. But back in February Twitter acquired Chroma labs, the creators of Chroma Stories app and so we can expect some real quick new releases and fast development.
How will Fleets change the way you look at Twitter?
Till now, Twitter was a platform where open conversations were valued. DMs have not been primary focus for Twitter. Sliding into DMs also doesn’t really have a great reputation and people follow accounts with a very different mindset than the other Social Networks.
With Fleets, sliding into someone’s DM would become easier. Folks will also see the accounts they’re following more closely as generally, we don’t tend to see and read ALL the tweets by a user. Now with Fleets we will see it all, if we choose to check Fleets regularly.
This might make you an accounts fan or might force you to mute/ unfollow them.
In any case, this is a new way to communicate and as marketeers, we will find ways to use to our benefit.
