How to use new boomerang effects on Instagram
Status updates are so 2009, 2020 and years to come are all about Stories.
*you can go ahead, quote this, tweet this, share this*
*Now let me start this post like every other post on Instagram Stories*
Instagram Stories are used by 500 million users every day. And it only makes sense to learn all the new and creative ways of using the Stories effects.
Why you ask 🤔
Here’s why Instagram Stories should be a crucial part of your Social Media Strategy 👇
- Your Instagram posts don’t reach all of your followers, because…. algorithm. But your Stories do 💪
- You can interact with your followers on Stories that can lead to a mutual relationship, which in turn will help your posts reach them. Yeah, it’s a way to play the algorithm 😉
- It makes your account fun and who doesn’t like fun? 🤷♀
Alright, so where do I find this boomerang thing?
In your Instagram Stories camera. duh.
You don’t have to download a whole another application for this. It’s not 2015!
Now, for almost 5 years Instagram ignored the fact that we all were struggling to create perfect boomerangs. The struggle of starting your action and hitting the camera button at the right moment was real. But hey, now it’s fixed so we’re all good, Instagram.
Here’s what they said while announcing the new boomerang modes
Good job with the right emojis there 😉
So, here’s how you can access boomerang modes on Instagram
- Open the stories camera and swipe right into Boomerang mode.
- Tap the new infinity icon at the top left of the screen to reveal three new effects and a trimming tool.
Okay, so what are these new boomerang modes?
The new boomerang modes include
Slomo — Converting the superfast boomerang to a slow loop. It halves the speed of a boomerang.
Echo — Now, this is cool. It adds a motion blur effect to your boomerang.
Duo — This rewinds your video rapidly and adds a bit of glitch.
Cool, eh!
Now, you can either share it directly or save it to your camera roll. It’s up to you. You can also get more creative by adding more stickers or asking questions. Go experiment 😉
