Cricrush Revolutionizes the Way Cricket is Followed and Enjoyed
Team Cricrush is pleased to announce the launch of digital fantasy cricket platform, Cricrush. Fantasy sports may be a rather new concept to South Asia, but it is a popular form of entertainment in western countries, that is growing rapidly.
Cricrush Inc. has launched its 100% home-grown Digital Fantasy Cricket platform aimed at cricket fans around the world. It is free-to-play, and currently available as a mobile app for Android and Apple phones, and also as a web based app.
Fantasy sports involves fans selecting a team of players for a match or a tournament, and competing against teams similarly selected by other fans. Your team’s score will be based on your selected players’ actual performances in matches.
The Cricrush app offers not only fantasy cricket, but also score prediction games, live chats and other engaging features to be introduced soon. Private leagues will be introduced soon, where users can challenge and compete with friends. It is also available in several South Asian languages such as Hindi, Bengali, Sinhala and Tamil. It is free-to-play, but offers prizes for winners on a weekly or series-wise basis.
World renowned Sri Lankan cricketing legends Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara are brand ambassadors for Cricrush. Cricrush the only fantasy cricket app officially endorsed by the Federation of International Cricketers Associations (FICA).
The app is entirely developed in Sri Lanka by a team of young developers from Jaffna. Founder Ramoshan Canagasaby, an ardent cricket fan who is also a social entrepreneur from San Francisco, says that “We started off as a pet-project with a few pivots during the learning process. This experiment worked really well and showed us that there is demand for a free-to-play fantasy cricket app. Then we got backed by global investors and FICA (www.thefica.com)to go make it happen, and here we are”.
CEO, Anjula Godakumbura adds that “We have made good progress and some promising opportunities have also come up.
