City of Charlotte employees are brightening Christmas for local families in need of assistance this year. The City Clerk’s Office gave back by organizing its ninth holiday donation drive through The Salvation Army.

“I think this is the biggest year that I’ve seen and I’m really pleased with our fellow employees,” says organizer Lorie Massenburg. “I am very, very honored to be a part of this office who supports Salvation Army and gives back to the community.”

This year, employees sponsored 43 Angels and 42 Silver Bells. The gifts will help to fill a huge need in the community. The Salvation Army says more than 10,000 people in the Charlotte area are seeking assistance this holiday season.
