Evolution of the CRW websites

The Crown Platform websites have always been pushed by community initiatives. The very first Crown(coin) web was created, designed and coded by the co-founders so its launch cost was zero. Its main message was “Tradition merged with technology”. This was in 2014. Looking back, the website designs have made very good progress into our current crownplatform.com web, which was paid for in 2017 by a US-based community member. It is well structured, but the crypto ecosystem is evolving very fast with over 7000 altcoins striving to become the next Bitcoin. A fresh look with a clear message who we are and where are we going is now desirable!

A few pictures from the Crown websites history are shown here for the community to see its progress.

So where do we go from here? Positive vibe and a clear message

The Crown web needs to keep evolving further and differentiate itself from the thousands of altcoins which are screaming for attention of the crypto public and corporate eye. So many coins creates a really extreme environment for newcomers. They may easily get lost in fancy technological messages, blockchain use cases, and future industries’ guesses about where the upcoming crypto adoption is promised to take place first. So how to position the Crown Platform in this chaotic environment?

The idea is to SIMPLIFY what we have on Crownplatform.com and focus on the following areas:

1. Clear message who we are

A few months ago, there was an ongoing discussion how to communicate what the Crown Platform is in a clear and understandable way. Business professionals say that if a breakthrough idea can not be explained in one sentence, it has no chance to succeed. So who are we in one sentence? To start this discussion within the community we are beginning with these candidates:

Main message example 1: CROWN PLATFORM — #BUIDLING a leading public ASSETchain

Main message example 2: CROWN PLATFORM — #BUIDLING a leading public blockchain

Sub message example: Powered by an industry leading MN-PoS blockchain algorithm aiming to achieve carbon neutrality

2. Low carbon economy identity

Recently, contributors took part in a discussion to more thoroughly consider Crown’s energy usage and CO2 footprint. Did you know that the Crown blockchain creates less than 0.0007% of the CO2 produced by the Bitcoin network? Well, we believe that the goal of achieving a carbon neutral blockchain should become one of key points in terms of our identity.

3. Mobile friendly environment

During the NFT framework marketing push, the community obtained very useful information about the users of the Crown Platform website. Over 60 percent were looking at the site from mobile devices. It is essential for the new website to take this into account and build a top quality mobile friendly environment.

4. Less text

Although the current website has a very good information structure, the world is moving away from long texts into clear phrases and video content. We want to simplify our text, pushing video content while keeping the current structure which is doing a great job.

5. Encouraging newcomers to join our chat rooms

Community is the heart of any project. When newcomers visit our site, our Discord and Telegram channels are hard to find. We need to welcome newcomers directly engaging them on our homepage, and inviting them to interact with us.

6. Node map in the spotlight

The Crown Platform Monitor which was recently brought online, is an excellent tool which enables the community to follow live stats of the CRW blockchain. After all, CRW is a technological innovation, with around 2000 nodes all over the world powering the network. We would like to visualize our worldwide node count and location and feature it as a worldwide map diagram — demonstrating the power of decentralization and inviting newcomers to set up nodes in their locations.

Next steps. How to pay for the stuff?

crowncoin_knight will submit a proposal to the Crown network to ascertain if the community agrees a new website is desired and needed. That is step one. Since the price of CRW is currently insufficient to pay for a complex task like this, it will be up to contributors to donate towards this initiative. Donation addresses for CRW and BTC, will be provided to the community if the proposal passes.

Our designer contributor, midnight, has agreed to lead the design works. We also have preliminary commitment of an experienced coder who has performed several web coding jobs for one of our contributors, so he is a verified guy.

It is expected the project will take several months to complete. If the community is happy with the result, and the price of CRW recovers to a sufficient level, a reimbursement proposal will be submitted so all donations can be returned to those who contributed.

Our initial estimate for the cost of the project is 0.3–0.5 BTC. If the community does not donate enough BTC / CRW to fund the project upfront, it will not proceed.
