Long term Crown contributor defunctec has about a million ideas for use-cases for our forthcoming NFT framework. Here he describes one which has reached the prototype stage.

Front and back of first prototype. MMC card for scale.

Reason

Crown will soon introduce NFT to its network and give users the ability to create unique non fungible assets with a few simple actions. To promote these developments the project needs users to build their own use cases to exploit Crown NFT and exhibit the abilities of NFT to the world.

Concept

https://crwcards.com

A card that represents a users contribution to the project. The card is credit card sized, plastic and contains a NFC chip. The chip will contain unique details of an NFT which is created specifically for the card. Cards will be custom designed and will be held in a card holder which is also custom designed and holds a NFC chip (Yes, even the card holder has an NFT). The card and card holder will represent a pair that are unique and cannot be replicated.

NFT

Two NFT tokens are created under a specific protocol, “CRWCARDS”, for example. The first token represents the card, second the holder. The token which represents the card uses a combination of the cards unique ID number and the users wallet address to generate a sha-256 hash which is used as the “NFTID”, while the holder hash is generated from the cards/wallet hash.

Both NFT’s metadata will be utilized to show Username, date created etc

Tiers

Community members and contributors can apply for a card based on their amount of time and contribution to the project.

Tier 1 — Community member and Crown holder.

Tier 2–1 Year community member, contributor and holder.

Tier 3–2 Year community member, contributor and holder.

Cards and holders

The card will hold information about the NFT, for example the hash of the token. The hash is generated from the cards unique ID.

This means the card can be used as a form of identity for a user and their username that can be confirmed using the chain.

The holder has attached a NFC tag which again contains simple information about the hash and username etc.

Cards and holders will have simple stylish design printed professionally.

Conclusion

The idea involves community engagement and community incentive to become more involved, NFT use case and an insight into how NFT and physical technology like NFC can work hand in hand.

This is just an idea and may or may not be rolled out in 2020.

Feedback welcome!
