Crown development update August-September
This is what happened at Crown this summer
1. Trezor Blockbook API:
- Devs have been working on making Crown compatible with Trezor’s Blockbook explorer/indexer/API. This is an important milestone for Crown and a requirement for the wallet extension which is being developed for Crown, as announced in the last development update. Some of the major advantages of Trezor Blockbook include:
- Support for transactions in the mempool as well as handling of forks and block reorgs.
- API with both REST and WebSocket compatibility, along with a variety of endpoints the apps can use, including historical information and real-time block and transaction subscriptions.
- The new explorer is online at https://explorer.crownplatform.com/

2. MetaCrown — Browser extension wallet
The wallet extension is in development process, it includes the management of several HD accounts, connection with apps, and a modern and intuitive interface. The devs expect that the app will be ready for testing in 4 weeks, and fully operational in mainnet in 8 weeks
3. Adventures of Monty
The development of the wallet extension is a requirement for user interaction with the Monty game. The development of the game is in its initial stage.
4. Crown Core
There are ongoing discussions in the community what is the best approach to Crown Core. In the last update three options were proposed from which OPTION 1 currently seems most viable. It proposes to gradually bring the BTC codebase part to a more current and stable version. When there is progress in testnet in this regard, the community will be informed and asked for testing help. We expect more progress with Crown Core right after the the MetaCrown wallet is put online.
