A Deep Question I Have to ask Myself: Did I Just Come to Earth for the Food?
Life just can’t all be about sandwiches and chocolate mousse, right?
Self-awareness is important, so as my 62nd birthday gets closer, I need to look within. Sometimes what I see isn’t pretty.
Like the fact that I basically live to eat. My favorite activities after eating are planning menus, shopping for food (especially at my local farmer’s market), and cooking food.
This would not be so bad if I didn’t have a lot of food sensitivities and a tendency to gain weight when I don't follow a strict diet. Not to mention high cholesterol levels. Someone like me should, ideally, confine myself to kale salads with sunflower seeds and eschew pancakes and pizza for the rest of my life.
Easier said than done.
Food obsession means planning treats months in advance.
Case in point: I have already started to plan what kind of birthday cake to make for my big six-two. This birthday is three months away. I have narrowed it down to two possibilities: Limoncello cake or American coconut layer cake.
