Yesterday, a close friend spent the night in the grip of unremitting vertigo. Finally, after spending the whole night vomiting, she went to the emergency room.

She was dehydrated by then, received IV fluids, and was diagnosed with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). Following treatment, she was discharged…
