Coming To Terms With The Reality of Ageing
It’s a case of reframing
I’ve lived more years than I have left to live.
That is a stark truth to take on board.
I bemoan the fact that I’m getting older and I have to come to terms with the fact that there are so many things I’ll never achieve, however many years I have left.
But this isn’t meant to be a gloomy post. Quite the opposite.
My wife and I go out for dinner together at least once a week and we chat the whole time.
We’ve been fortunate to have travelled widely.
We chat about the places we’ve been and the amazing things we’ve seen. We’ve been to several countries in Europe, New York, and Las Vegas. We’ve also flown over Mount Everest on a trip to Nepal and into the Grand Canyon in a helicopter.
We’ve been on safari in South Africa and up Table Mountain and have seen bears and eagles in the wild in Alaska.
We’ve stayed in some wonderful hotels and eaten in some top-class restaurants.
We’ve been on cruises and met some amazing people, some of whom we are still in touch with years later.
