Ever Wonder What It’s Like When You Leave Your Suitcase on the Airport Shuttle Bus?
I can tell you
My ex-husband and I had an acrimonious divorce many years ago but these days we get along great because: (1) we’re both happier without each other; and (2) we both adore our three grandsons.
We get along so well that on a recent Newport Beach vacation with our son and daughter-in-law and the grandkids, Rick gave me a lift from LAX to the vacation venue in the car he’d rented at the airport and then drove me back to LAX when our vacation was over.
After we returned the rental car to Budget, we got on the shuttle bus to the airport, stashed our suitcases in the rack by the exit door, and began the long circuitous bus schlep to the airport, and then from one terminal to the next.
To pass the time we struck up a conversation with a couple who was sitting nearby who looked to be about our age and learned that they had grown up in Michigan, just like me.
Another couple overheard us and joined in. They were Michiganders too!
What were the odds?
