Someone recently asked me if I wanted to be young again. It was an offensive question — as if being older was the worst thing in the world. After hearing that, my head spun around more times than Linda Blair's. What an ageist! Her question implied that everyone wants to be young. That's not true. Most people want to be the age they are.

I shot back:

“Wouldn’t you want to be as old as me and not be on an emotional rollercoaster? Think about it. You spend most of your time trying to get a good job, finding the right friends, worrying about your appearance, and scrounging up enough money to buy meaningless things, while I’m happy the way I am.”

"I didn't mean to insult you," she apologized.

I'm sure she didn't intend to insult me. Society has brainwashed younger people into believing that youth is what everyone wants. They say it on TV, in magazines, and in…
