Crow’s Feet

This is an email from Crow's Feet: Life As We Age, a newsletter by Crow’s Feet.

If you haven’t had a chance to listen to the new Crow’s Feet podcast, now’s a good time. The more people who give a listen, the easier it will become for others to find the encouraging, age-positive message of the podcast. You can find the Crow’s Feet podcast on Apple, Spotify, Google, iHeart — or wherever you listen. If you like what you hear, please subscribe to the podcast and leave a review if you’re so inclined.

On the episode entitled “What’s for Dinner, Grandpa?” you’ll hear Crow’s Feet writer Jean Feldeisen talking with Lee J. Bentch about his life at home with five grandchildren and his daughter. The children’s presence, he says, extended his wife’s life in her final months and he was there for his 5-year-old grandson when the boy faced a life-threatening kidney disease. Lee’s interview is not all serious — he also reads a story he wrote that describes how he manages to prepare supper for the crew every day.

In the other episode now available, Crow’s Feet founder Nancy Peckenham tells Betsy Allen, a Crow’s Feet editor, about her childhood and career that led her to create the publication in 2019. If you’re curious about Nancy’s belief that we have the power to change the conversation about aging, give the episode a listen.

And if you missed the premiere last Wednesday, the entire presentation, including Dr. Louise Aronson, a geriatrician and author of the book Elderhood, you can watch the whole thing on our new youtube channel right here!

Finally… If you’re wondering how this group of Crow’s Feet writers managed to pull off the production of a podcast that is taking off, with more 130 downloads the first week, here are a couple first-person accounts about how it went down:

The Podcast Gala Was Fun But the Audience Was the Best of All by Jean Feldeisen
