June is Pride Month and in recognition, the Crow’s Feet Podcast is presenting an interview with a woman who broke barriers in the 1960s by studying the culture of drag queens and coming out as gay when society still punished people for homosexuality.

Host Melinda Blau spoke with Esther Newton about her life and how attitudes have changed in the past 60 years. (Listen here.) Melinda also wrote about her own sexuality in a piece that introduces Esther Newton. Read Esther Newton Won’t Make You Gay.

Getting Older

Are you worried your children will overreact if they see you have a moment of forgetfulness or poor judgment? Do you hide your little foibles from them, avoiding the possibility that they may want to sit down with you and have a talk about assisted living?

This week on Crow’s Feet we have two stories that address the dynamic that occurs when adult children decide it’s time to step up and take charge of your life. The stories are humorous, but they reveal a hidden truth.

We also have another three stories that reveal a growling acceptance of the signs of getting older.

And finally, we include three stories written in response to our writing prompt about how our fathers influenced us.
