Looking for a Soul Mate?
Here’s my advice
I took a walk early this morning. At that hour nobody was out and about in my quiet suburban neighborhood but joggers, cyclists, and dog walkers.
I passed several women strolling down the sidewalk, or stopped, looking fondly at the canine companion on the other end of the leash who was checking out a bush or fire hydrant.
A woman stood on the curb ahead of me. She was talking, happy and animated. There was a fluffy golden Doodle Dog on the end of the leash she held. I assumed she was on the phone, but as I approached, she fell silent, and didn’t resume talking until after I had passed. She wasn’t wearing a Bluetooth, either.
I realized that she’d hadn’t been on the phone. She’d been talking to her dog.
What about?
Who knows?
That’s one of the great thing about dogs. You can tell them anything.
As a kid, when I was angry or unhappy, I’d take our Sealyham Terrier for a walk and confide in her. I’d pour my heart out! Even though I knew she didn’t understand a word I said, it always made me feel better.
