Maybe We Should Go Out to Lunch Instead of Dinner

So many of my senior friends are doing this now

I don’t know about you, but I’m moving in the direction of getting together for lunch instead of dinner. Don’t get me wrong, I love going out to dinner, sitting back, maybe having a cocktail or a glass of wine, and a leisurely night of convivial conversation.

But I’m dealing with cataracts now, so driving at night has become a bit of a chore. I usually have my partner drive.

I’m. OK if it’s still daylight, but if it’s dark, she’s gonna yell at me. And I don’t need any more of that.

Here are some other reasons why I’m moving in the lunch direction.

— It’s always cheaper. I don’t drink during the day, and most of my friends don’t either, so I know the bill is easily cut in half if we have lunch.

— At lunch, I don’t have to worry about who’s gonna pay what, or wonder who might not pay their share.

Sometimes, at dinner, when a group goes out, they want to split the bill evenly, and then there’s an argument argument over appetizers and alcohol. Inevitably, somebody gets stuck with paying a lot more than they intended.
