Over 60? It’s Time To Turn It Up To 11!
Why you shouldn’t slow down when you hit that number
Sixty-five.
This month.
I still think I’m 60, but when I look at the calendar I see someone has sneaked an extra five years on there.
I guess it’s time I should be slowing down because, after all, taking it easy is something I’ve earned after 40-plus years of work.
It’s time for me to sit back, kick off my shoes and relax, scrolling through Netflix and watching my waistline grow steadily as I cruise towards 70.
And then…
And then, I look at what I’ve got to look forward to now I’ve reached this particular landmark.
It doesn’t fill me with joy.
My physical health decline will accelerate with inactivity
If I choose to sit around doing as little as possible, then my muscle mass (what there is of it), bone density, and cardiovascular health will all decline rapidly the less I do.
That means I’ll be at greater risk of falling due to poor balance and breaking something because my bones have become more brittle.
