Surprise
Shock at the Dentist Office
Attention-getting, not electrical!
Cause
One evening, I had a filling fall out of the center, lower tooth. I remember getting it filled 30 or 40 years ago. They told me that it was a flat filling using a new procedure and if it didn’t stick, they would need to pull the tooth. It stuck pretty well, but not forever.
I called my dentist, Prime Dentistry, the next morning. Their website advertised that they could get emergencies in within one day.
The appointment was set for noon!
The visit
I arrived at 11:40am, just in case they were running ahead (joke - ALL doctors run late). They called me in at 11:50. The assistant got me set up and took the X-rays. At precisely noon, the dentist came in.
He checked the x-rays, the X-rays from my prior visit, and the tooth. I didn’t need anesthetic since it was the top of the tooth, where there weren’t any nerves.
He drilled the inside of the cavity slightly to rough up the surface so the filling would stick better. He filled the tooth, the assistant flashed some light on it, and then he used another drill to smooth the surface.
