“The pleasure of all reading is doubled
when one lives with another
who shares the same books.”
— Katherine Mansfield (_poetic.outlaws_)

In quiet moments,
we read under a tree
or on a blanket
in a park
from the curiosity of youth,
to the understanding
of old age.

At home
on the sofa
or at night under the covers
with just enough light
and a pillow behind our backs,
we share and discuss
readings from the wisdom
of bound pages.

We pair bond
through literature,
hold our library cards
close to our hearts,
stories we never forget,
the authors we admire,
who dance around our heads
like elves.

We prefer hardcover
to paperback,
a firm bookmark,
early morning
to mid-afternoon
and the quiet of the night.
