When I was young, Vietnam was prominent in the news and protests were rampant. Young men were escaping to Canada. Some were declaring themselves unfit to serve. Many were doing drugs and dropping out. The war was not fashionable.

Vietnam came and went, like all wars do, and life moved on. But the repercussions of those times lingered…
