When we reach a certain age, and start to find it more challenging to perform certain exercises, it helps to be aware of exercises that give you ‘more bang for your buck’ and are easy to perform into the bargain.
One of those exercises is the humble ‘plank’. Furthermore, it can be added to our daily fitness routines easily and in the comfort of our own home.
The traditional plank is performed lying flat on the ground, resting on your forearms or the palms of your hands if you prefer.
You should be on your toes, and your whole body should be straight.
If it’s done properly, after 30–40 seconds, depending on your fitness level, you should start to feel the tension in your core.
