Try Time Traveling to Supercharge Your Retirement
Jump to the past and rediscover people, passions, and pastimes that shaped your life.
Yes, time travel is possible.
I don’t mean the kind Bradbury, Vonnegut, and Heinlein wrote about (although it would be a hoot to visit the dinosaurs).
I’m talking about imagining traveling to your past, observing it, meddling with it, and bringing the best of it home. I do it often and it works like a charm. Because of my time traveling, I’m happier, healthier, sharper, and more active than I ever thought I’d be in retirement.
An example
In July of 1990, I took my then-girlfriend to an intimate French restaurant near San Francisco. That magnificent dinner blew my entire food budget for the month, but it was worth it because when I proposed she said, “Yes.”
So, last month I took my wife on a trip back in time to that day, 34 years ago. We went to a lovely French restaurant and reenacted the proposal.
She said “Yes” again. Whew!
Time is short
How much longer will we enjoy retirement? Twenty years? Ten? Two? It’s impossible to know. That means every moment is precious.
