What Happened When I Did These Exercises Every Day For a Month
I didn’t do them to get fitter
In May, I celebrated a significant birthday. I won’t say which one, but I won’t be in my mid-60s next year. It made me look at myself and get all introspective and reflective and think, What have I done? What have I got to look back on and say, ‘I did this, I stuck at this and did it.’ ?
Let’s just put things into perspective here. I already do a few things, so I’m not a sit-on-the-couch guy, lazily stuffing crisps into my mouth and drinking beer.
I used to do karate before we moved to a semi-rural location with no classes nearby, and I had been doing it for 13 years. Now, I do my twice-weekly HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) classes, but I’m always seeing if there’s anything else I can do.
My problem is that I’m a quitter. I start things, and if I don’t get that instant gratification, then I give up. I’ve started blogs, I’ve started businesses, I have ideas for books and articles, but I never see them through. So, what I wanted was something that I could look back on and say, I did that every day for a month.
