What My Cat Taught Me About Dying

One lesson about mortality: It helps if someone can help you.

Maxine was a strong-willed tuxedo feline aged at least 18 years old on the day we had her euthanized. I won’t mince words about it. We didn’t “put her down” or “escort her to the Rainbow Bridge.” She was euthanized. She was given a death I would want if I ever have a choice.
