What’s News And What’s Schmooze?

Finding an accurate news source is like looking for a needle in a haystack

I never cared that much about the news until recent years. I figured it wasn’t something that was part of my little world, so I wasn’t that concerned about it.

Now that the USA seems on the verge of another Civil War, so they say, the news has gotten my attention. Being retired gives me more time to seek it.

I often wonder if everything is really as bad as the news says it is, or are they just sensationalizing the truth to sell a story? Every reporter and journalist is trying to get their story sold and told, so what do they use to fabricate it?

I won’t watch cable news at all. None of it is completely true; it echoes the viewers' political preferences. Unfortunately, more and more citizens are watching their cable channel of choice as their main source of news.

Cable news is more opinion than news. I don’t need to listen to that drivel.

My husband watches CNN on Sunday mornings, and there is one whiny guy who has an opinion on everything. I hate his sing-songy nasal voice and would like to strangle him. I ask my husband how he can listen to that crap, but…
