My relationship of almost a year has come to an end, leaving a profound sense of loss and disappointment that most of you can relate to.

It seemed like the epitome of perfection when I embarked on this journey. But as we all know, perfection is a myth, and reality soon paints a different picture.

I truly, sincerely gave it my all. I invested my time, emotions, hopes, and dreams into making it work. I believed in our potential and was willing to overlook the emerging red flags.

Overlooking red flags is not wise, and I knew it.

It was a leap of faith that I was willing to take. I kept my hope and optimism alive. I met Jon on Our Time, an online dating site focusing on older people looking for love. Since I am now 70, it made sense to try it. We hit it off, and I was optimistic about a future together. I was hopeful I had finally found my match.

Over the past eight years of being single, I’ve met various men on multiple dating sites, but finding a partner has been an elusive struggle. My longest “relationship” lasted five weeks, with one date a week, always out to dinner on Friday night. It was…
