Each wave, a poem

My past floats ashore with each foamy wave,
a childhood memory, an image of my parents
taking a picture on a Polaroid
A toddler afraid of the tide

There are ever-changing memories at sea —
angels and sinners I’ve met randomly,
and that time in a dream, shedding my clothing,
exploring…
