DEMUXED THE CONFERENCE FOR VIDEO ENGINEERS

Ellation recently hosted the annual FOMS ( Foundation of Open Media ) and the Demuxed conference for video engineering here at Ellation HQ in San Francisco.

The 9th annual FOMS workshop brought together many key individuals from: Browsers (Mozilla, Safari, Chrome), publishers (Youtube, Netflix, Ellation, Twitch, IGN, New York Times, Viacom, Wikimedia, Internet Archive) and technology and service providers (Brightcove, Kaltura, JW player, Mux, BlueJeans, Wowza, Akamai, Bitmovi, peer5)

For FOMS, the gathering of this diverse group of individuals from the broader video ecosystem helps groups that are proposing new standards gather feedback in a workshop setting directly with the respective stakeholders. FOMS workshop produced detailed notes from the proceeding that are now available on the conference site.

This was the 2nd year of Demuxed, which also was a huge success, packing the Ellation conference hall with 200+ video engineers. They gathered to listen to key report backs from the industry on the latest approaches towards accessing video quality and adaptive bitrate strategies. Speakers also shared updates on new video technologies from royalty free codecs & 360 videos to web video editing and web realtime communication. The Demuxed conference was streamed live on twitch and will be made available in the youtube channel soon.

We at Ellation were proud to host the conference and look forward to continued participation in technologies that push the boundaries of what is possible for web video experiences.

If you would like to join Ellation in this epic journey be sure to drop us a line ;)
