International Day of Impact with Otter Media

Together with our sister companies, we participated in Otter Media’s international Day of Impact, which brought together Otter companies across the portfolio for a day of volunteering in our respective communities. Our Ellation offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Moldova and Japan participated by volunteering at different charity organizations around the world.

In Japan, our team split into two groups to volunteer with the Shibuya Ward Office to help volunteer photographer, Mr. Yoshida, take pictures of tourists in front of the historical Hachiko-mae statue at Shibuya Station, and make Japanese origami that was then given to the tourists after their pictures were taken.

Our Moldova team worked with three different charity organizations during their Day of Impact activities, which included helping out and feeding dogs at an animal shelter, participating in a run called “Wings for Life, World Run” that benefitted spinal cord research projects and spent a day playing games and interacting with kids suffering from cancer at an education center.

Our Los Angeles office took time to volunteer at the LA Food Bank, where they packaged 9,365 pounds of food that made up 7,773 meals for the needy, read stories and then assisted students in creating storyboards for their own movies at Lankershim Elementary School and helped out at Baby2Baby, an organization that provides children living in poverty with diapers, clothing and basic necessities.

In San Francisco, our team helped package food at the SF Marin Food Bank, washed dogs of owners with disabilities and terminal illnesses with PAWS and helped students tell their unique, personal story through poetry and podcasts at 826 Valencia.

With 19 total volunteer events around the world, more than 500 Otter Media employees took part in our Day of Impact, with a total of 1824 volunteer hours that were given back to the community. From LA to Tokyo, our entire team loved giving back and being part of such an inspirational day!
