“Power isn’t determined by your size, but the size of your heart and dreams!” — Monkey D Luffy

Every year in mid-February, the NBA spotlight hones in on an action-packed weekend of basketball, capped off with (a mostly offense-driven) East versus West showdown on Sunday. This year, our All-Stars, Rising Stars, Slam Dunk, Skills Challenge, Three-Point contestants, and more will crowd to Charlotte for the long weekend event. The East battles the West every year on the court, and on Sunday, February 17th, captains Lebron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo will take their teams to battle it out.

The All-Star Game roster is partially selected by popular vote (which ended on January 21st) — and we were hoping to tip the scale in Steven Adams’ favor, care of the below video. Steven Adams has been a longtime fan of anime, his favorite being “One Piece”. Crunchyroll called out to the “One Piece” community to help one of their fellow fans get voted into the 2019 NBA All-Stars team as he has never been nominated.

On more than one occasion, Adams has been seen sharing his love for “One Piece” in interviews highlighted in the video. Being one of the most exciting centers in the league, Adams sets himself even further apart by sharing his love for anime.

Many fans not realizing Adams was a “One Piece” or even an anime fan, the post generated over 460K views on Facebook and 46K views on Twitter, with even the official OKC Thunder team retweeting and sharing in support.

Although Steven Adams isn’t starting on February 17, we’re hoping that our fellow anime enthusiast will be named tomorrow as a reserve team member — crossing fingers!! Check out the video below that shows his love:
