This word is defined as to gulp something down quickly and/or in a greedy fashion.
I’m channeling my inner Marty Chapin for this one ….
I felt the temperature drop ten degrees right before the spirit entered my body. It’s force was powerful. It started taking over my mind. My limbs were no longer under my control, and I knew exactly what the ghost wanted.
I eyed the jar of pickles sitting on the counter.
I couldn’t control the urges; my whole body felt a fever taking over it, and the only way to cure it was to consume that whole jar.
With a shaky hand, I twisted off the cap, reached my hand in, and pulled out half a dozen pickles. Devouring them in record time, my hunger was still not quenched. I picked the jar up and tipped it back, guzzling every tiny drop.
