She understood that the only intimacy she had really experienced had begun when she gave up the fruitless struggle to keep alive a relationship that existed only in her own shortcomings, in her desires, in her mind.
Because every interstice of her body had only been explored by her own hands, by her senses recognizing every stimulation, and all converging in an ecstasy, a conjunction of a soul she did not believe in, with a body devouring itself in the eternity of a finite orgasm bringing her back to life, to reality.
That reality for which she could leave the company of a thousand beds before returning to being the extension of another’s pleasure, as she was with him.
Because she refused to carry the weight of his anorgasmia, his demands, his reproaches. Because there was no more room in her suitcase for his frustration.
