#Hundo Prompt — Pea

Photo by Nina Hill on Unsplash

Once like peas in a pod, we were embraced and confined,
Inseparable, our hearts and fingers were entwined.
Our laughter echoed, but something was wrong,
Shadows crept as our time trudged along.

Time’s cruel hand, as if a relentless tide,
Our bond weakened, and with it, our joy was denied.
As the season changed, we began to divide,
Separating like withered peas, once side by side.

Faded now, what was once oh so bright,
Our love, our lust, our combined delight,
We held on to each other long after twilight,
Our eyes locked until we were finally out of sight.
