As the Uber approached Valeria’s apartment building, Roman leaned forward. “You can pull over here. It’s the building with the purple sign.”
“Here?” The driver seemed confused. “This is where you’re working tonight?”
“Yeah, something like that. Thanks for the ride.”
Roman got out of the car and walked to the entrance. Glancing around, he checked the foot traffic on the sidewalk and the cars on the street. It wasn’t too busy, but it would probably be better to use the rear exit and alleyway later.
He was glad she had fed, but it had been too long for him…
