Crust Network and Moonbeam Collaborate For Decentralized Storage
We are excited to announce our partnership with Moonbeam, an Ethereum-compatible smart contract parachain on Polkadot, to enable the decentralized storage of Solidity smart contracts and DApp data. This partnership will create new opportunities not only for the Moonbeam and Crust Network but also for the whole Polkadot ecosystem.
Crust’s decentralized storage protocol allows for files to be stored on different hosts by distributing the files across the entire network without being restricted by any centralized entity. Users can flexibly manage their data and effectively enhance data security and reliability through data encryption, secure backup, authorized access, and other means. At the same time, the storage space sharing model can also effectively reduce storage costs.
This integration will benefit Crust by providing a new inflow of users and projects that are building on Moonbeam who will need a storage protocol for their own particular use case.
“This partnership fills an essential need and will help the Crust, Moonbeam, and Polkadot ecosystems grow. Now, developers and projects building on Moonbeam have access to a cost-effective and decentralized data storage solution that can be used for decentralized applications, cloud services, edge computing, or even file storage and sharing.” said Francisco Javier Agosti, Director of Markets and Partnerships at Moonbeam.
Moonbeam is the easiest on-ramp to Polkadot. Moonbeam’s complete Ethereum compatibility allows existing Solidity smart contracts to be easily deployed to the parachain without changes. Once parachain functionality is live on Polkadot, developers will be able to rapidly deploy smart contracts and access the growing Polkadot ecosystem without hiring new developers or significantly rewriting their codebase.
About Moonbeam
Moonbeam is an Ethereum-compatible smart contract platform on the Polkadot network that makes it easy to build natively interoperable applications. This Ethereum compatibility allows developers to deploy existing Solidity smart contracts and DApp frontends to Moonbeam with minimal changes. As a parachain on the Polkadot network, Moonbeam will benefit from the shared security of the Polkadot relay chain and integrations with other chains that are connected to Polkadot. Currently, in active development by PureStake, Moonbeam is expected to reach MainNet by mid-2021.

About Crust
Crust implements the incentive layer protocol for decentralized storage. It is adaptable to multiple storage layer protocols such as IPFS, and provides support for the application layer. Crust’s architecture also has the capability of supporting a decentralized computing layer and building a decentralized cloud ecosystem.
At present, public testnet Maxwell CC2 is live, and welcomes everyone to join for testing. Crust Network successively joined Substrate Builders Program and Web3.0 Bootcamp, and also obtained a Web3 Foundation Grant.
