In order to optimize the response speed of the Crust network and enhance the user storage experience, Crust is launching the “Global Community Gateway Collection” program. Crust is calling for independent gateways from the community, and welcomes gateways that meet the technical documentation standards to actively participate and contribute to the Crust network! High-quality gateways that meet Crust’s technical standards will also receive a contribution reward of 1,000 to 5,000 CRU per year, assessed based on test results.

How to participate

1. Register a gateway: Crust apps -> Storage -> Select a gateway -> Contribute to Web3 IPFS Gateway -> Follow the GitHub guide to register a gateway.

GitHub registration guide: https://github.com/crustio/crust-apps/tree/master/packages/apps-config/src/ipfs-gateway-endpoints

Once registered successfully, the gateway will be added to the official Crust apps website for community contributions. Crust’s community dev team will test the gateways, and their status will be indicated by the color of the circular icon. Grey means the gateway status is unknown (untested); green means the gateway is operational; red means the gateway has encountered an error and its use may be affected.

2. Submit a proposal: Once the gateway meets Crust’s technical standards, you can submit a proposal in the Crust apps Democracy section to apply for treasury funding. The proposal submission address must match the address provided in the gateway application PR; otherwise, the proposal will not be approved due to lack of proof of gateway ownership.

3. Council approval: The Crust Council will vote on the candidate gateways based on the application materials and test results. If the gateway passes the tests and the application materials meet the requirements, the DCF will coordinate the Council to approve it.

4. Contribution reward: Once approved, a one-time treasury reward will be granted. The DCF will distribute cost subsidies linearly over 12 months, based on the actual operation of the gateway. The gateway must maintain normal operation; if the gateway’s status is abnormal at any time, the subsidy will be suspended.

Treasury proposal application guide

  1. Enter Crust apps, select Governance -> Treasury -> Submit proposal

2. In the Value field, enter the amount of 10 CRU. Proposals with other amounts will be rejected. Ensure that your account has a balance greater than 0.5 CRU, as submitting a treasury proposal requires a 5% CRU stake.

3. Click Sign and submit the proposal.

4. Click the subsquare button next to the proposal to jump to the proposal page. Edit the proposal content, enter the gateway name, your Telegram username and the configuration used.

5. The Council will vote to approve or reject each proposal. Once approved, the DCF Foundation will compensate and distribute the remaining rewards.

Gateway technical specifications reference

  1. Minimum configuration: CPU: 16 cores, 32 threads Memory: 32GB Disk: 1TB SSD (ensure disk space is available) Public IP number and bandwidth: 1 public IP, bandwidth: 100Mbps Operating System: CentOS/Ubuntu Domain: one gateway access domain
  2. Recommended configuration: CPU: 20 cores, 40 threads Memory: 64GB Disk: 4TB*5 SSD (forming RAID 5) Public IP number and bandwidth: 2 public IPs, IP1: 100Mbps bandwidth (for IPFS node sync), IP2: 200Mbps bandwidth (for user access) Operating System: CentOS/Ubuntu Domain: one gateway access domain
