Recap of 1st Crust Network Hackathon in India

On the 11th to 13th of April 2022, Crust Network hosted its very first offline Hackathon in India at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Chennai, whose technical department ranks among the TOP 10 universities in India.

After just one day of open registration, we reached our event limit of 300 student participants highly motivated to build decentralized cloud solutions based on Crust Network.

As co-sponsor for this event, Crust has been joined by its long term partner Polygon which incentivized decentralized storage solutions integrated with their public network.

In a 48-hour offline Hackathon event, more than 80 participating teams competed in multiple rounds for a combined prize pool worth $2,500 USD, including more chances to win different giveaways.

In collaboration with the local student organization Hackclub VIT Chennai, Crust hosted an outstanding event for everybody involved and educated participants on the benefits and the uses of Crust as a decentralized cloud solution for many different use cases.

For over 48 hours straight, independent teams drafted, designed, and developed decentralized solutions by building on Crust Network and Polygon. Participating teams came up with many creative and innovative ideas by utilizing Crust’s platform.

At the end of the 48 hours event, all final projects were benchmarked according to several different factors by a judging panel in order to determine 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

We have been amazed by the event’s overall outcome as well as all the positive feedback received and want to say “Thank you” to everybody who helped make this possible. We are looking forward to the next round :)
