Despite the 2008 Global Financial Crisis, housing prices have continued to soar throughout the United States and much of the developed world, placing affordable shelter out of reach of the middle class. Coupled with a continuing global population boom and a projected 1 billion people migrating to cities over the next two decades, we must find new models for supporting housing for all people.
In some cases, this may mean improving existing processes, such as by creating better markets for selling housing assets and improving the mortgage process. However, it may mean an entire transformation of the way we think about housing as shelter and as an asset class.
We are interested in any startup that wants to improve housing access and improve housing density.
