What’s next for Cryptage Origins?

The clocks have all long stopped, but the Ethereum blocks keep piling on. The banks may be gone, but the Blockchain lives on. Have you got what it takes to make it in the world of Cryptage?

The ambition behind Cryptage Origins and future planned games in the Cryptage universe has always been to create games that are fun to play, enjoyable in the long run and that, more than anything else, push the boundaries of blockchain technology.

So far, the feedback we received for the current live beta of the game has been overwhelmingly positive and we’ve now surpassed 100 active players. Excellent.👌 But this is just one step along the way.

Behind the scenes we’ve been hard at work updating pretty much all parts of Origins, including the user interface, additional gameplay mechanics, as well as backend nuts and bolts. And, since the question we get most often asked by the community is “What do you guys have planned next?” we thought it was only appropriate to dedicate this post to covering what’s coming next.

Let’s talk about four new things you will see in the final version of Cryptage Origins once it launches on the mainnet.

1-Revamped design

Visuals were extremely important for creating the setting and the atmosphere of this semi-dystopian future cryptopunk world that is Cryptage and we’re rather proud of all the illustrations that we’ve created.

Cryptage Origins UI improvements.

However, in trying to include all information about pretty much everything, we ended up creating a user interface that’s a bit too cluttered, with too many numbers all over the place and some buttons not doing what you would expect them to do, things like that. But, with the help of your feedback, we set out to sort it out for a better gaming experience and the above gif shows the UI evolution.

The after version is much cleaner, wouldn’t you agree? And the cool part is that this redesign is soon coming to the current beta version of Cryptage Origins in order to get some more feedback (see you on Discord!) before calling it final_final (you know the struggle👀).

2-Marketplace launch

The Marketplace and card trading is of course an essential part of any card based game and Cryptage Origins is no different here.

However, since the current beta is running on one of the test networks where coins are basically worthless and you can get them for free, we left it out in order to polish the UI and its workings for the mainnet launch.

Take a look at the screenshot below to get an idea of what the Marketplace will look like.

3-Introduction of Achievements

While the Leaderboard and the Marketplace on their own are already a huge incentive to continue playing at high levels and for longer periods of time, we wanted to take it a step beyond.

The new Achievements system will set unique goals for all players looking for interesting challenges, as well as people who love collecting all the badges a game has to offer. Gotta catch ’em all, right?😎

Here’s a sneak peek at how the Achievements screen will look like once Cryptage Origins launches to the mainnet.

4-Playing on multiple devices

This is something that was planned to be included from the get-go, but was left out from the beta because we simply wanted to get the game out for testing as soon as possible.

The good news is that it’s a feature that’s coming with the mainnet version of Cryptage Origins and you’ll be able to pick up where you left off on a different device.

Wasting time without restarting projects while at work will no longer be an issue😉

And that’s not all

Of course there’s more. But we really want to save a surprise or two for the mainnet launch, too.

However, what we can share now is that there will be ways to win some nice cards very soon! Make sure to join our Discord and follow Cryptage on Twitter so you don’t miss the announcement. And just to be clear, those will be cards for the final, livenet version of Cryptage Origins. Neat, right?😏

What’s more, if it happens that you’re in Berlin right now, you could win yourself a rare card even today. Our team is currently visiting DappCon in Berlin and they brought a few dozen of redeemable Cryptage cards to hand out. Try reaching out if you’re in the neighbourhood.😉

We brought dozens of these with us to share at the DappCon in Berlin.

Thanks for tuning in and see you on the Leaderboard!🚀
