Crypto Talks — Empowering through Blockchain
On Wednesday 8 August 2018, Crypto Bacon Club organised CryptoTalks — Empowering Through Blockchain. We would like to thank Co. for the venue and our official sponsor, Tangem. Also, we want to give a huge thank you to our featured ICO speakers Greenlink and Consentium!
Together, our 4 key speakers gave a well rounded talk about Blockchain technology and its different applications in everyday life.
Our first keynote speaker Adriel Ho, spoke about Blockchain Sustainability Use Cases. Adriel is an expert regarding blockchain in the food system. He is a technical committee member of Singapore Distributed Ledger Technologies Standards, a blockchain instructor at General Assembly as well as a blockchain consultant that helps corporates and startups figure out if and how they can use blockchain to solve their business problems, he is also involved in starting projects in the blockchain food system sustainability space.
Greenlink’s CEO Walter Oh’s presentation introduced us to Greenbox and GreenLink, the first social enterprise in Asia to launch a utility token based on Ethereum to drive sustainability and social change.They aim to break down complex supply chains to help consumers make informed purchases on the products they consume everyday through blockchain technology.
Representing Consentium, Ngeow Jiawen, gave us an in depth understanding on Consentium — the first crypto wallet, community and chat app that rewards everyone for their engagement. Therefore, Consentium empowers content creators and tech-savvy individuals to connect with other users by building groups and monetizing their group followers.
And lastly, our second keynote speaker Vivien Zheng touched on the Policies & Regulations involving blockchain. Vivian is a social entrepreneur and innovator who creates innovative solutions and enable sustainable growth for emerging markets. She graduated from NUS’s Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in 2016.
In her speech, she gave us insights on how blockchain technology can be the solution to many sustainability problems over the global and local platforms.
