Mining ETH on Nvidia RTX 3060, RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 Laptop GPUs, What to Expect

Gaming laptops with the new Nvidia RTX 30 series Laptop GPUs are starting to be available on the market and people are not only playing games on them, but also using them for mining Ethereum crypto coins. Similar to their desktop counterparts in the GeForce RTX 30 Series line, the mobile graphics used in gaming notebooks does give a very good performance in terms of low power usage and high hashrate for Ethereum (ETH) mining. The new Nvidia mobile GPU product line consists of the following models: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU for the moment. Though maybe in the not-so-distant future we could also see an even more affordable RTX 3050 Laptop GPU catering to the more budget friendly and still doing good performance wise entry level mobile gaming segment.

Although the product names of the mobile graphics are like on the desktop variants of these GPUs, the laptop versions do have a “Laptop GPU” included in their product name, because it is really not exactly the same specs graphics processor or even video memory as used on the desktop models. With the above said, while the RTX 30 Series Laptop GPUs should still do pretty well as far as Ethereum mining is concerned and most likely with other crypto coins that use a GPU-intensive…
