AC Milan is joining NFT race

Another sports team is joining the NFT race. Italian professional soccer club AC Milan is releasing their own collection of NFTs. This collection will consist of 75 817 NFTs. This number is quite special for the club, because it is supposed to represent the number of seats in their home stadium. The NFTs will be available through crypto exchange BitMEX and thanks to their partnership, first 10 000 pre-orders will get discounts and other benefits. All the money gained from this auction will go to Fondaziune Milan, which is club’s charity arm that helps projects in South Sudan or currently in Ukraine.

Epic Games into Metaverse

Epic Games is a video game publisher and shop who is best known for Fortnite. This company has announced their plans about leaving their mark in Metaverse. Epic Games said they have $2 billion funding prepared together with plans to speed up their joining into the Metaverse. This includes the $1 billion investment from Sony and $200 million from KIRKBI (the holding company behind the LEGO Group). This deal which will have to be discussed further will bring Epic Game’s valuation at staggering $31.5 billion. According to these three companies, the main goal behind this is to “influence the future of entertainment and digital play”.

Polygon is going carbon neutral

The Polygon network announced their decision of going carbon neutral in 2022. The network announced that on their twitter through their Manifesto: “Green Manifesto: A Smart Contract with Planet Earth.” This also includes their pledge backed by $20 million to offset their carbon footprints and maybe in the future become carbon negative. This all comes from their collaboration with KlimaDAO, a company which provides on-chain carbon offsetting technology. And also from their deal with Offsetra, this company helps Polygon with their analysis tool which calculates the network’s carbon intensity.
